Cockshutt Moulded Aircraft Employee Dance

The development of a new industrial company in Brantford created an opportunity for a new social sphere to develop in the city. Social events were organized by employee-led committees to encourage comradery and help with company morale.

On February 26th, 1943, a gala was organized by the Sports’ Committee of Cockshutt Moulded Aircraft at the International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge in Brantford, where 250 employees and their loved ones attended the dance, including roughly thirty service members. Events like these provided the community with a chance to take a break from the arduous factory work that they were employed in.
