Overview and Purpose
This lesson is an introduction to the scope of immigration to Canada from 1900 to 2019. The perception of immigration that the students currently have will be challenged against the reality of immigration in Canada.
Students will first guess which countries have the most immigration to Canada by years. They will then watch a video which relays the statistics and students will adapt their guesses as the video progresses. This lesson is followed with an assignment which allows students to pick a specific immigrant group and write about their immigration process to Canada.
