Overview and Purpose

This lesson will allow students to learn more about the history of Brantford’s industry including the lasting negative effects that industry has on land and natural resources. Students will complete Brantford’s Brownfield Discovery Tour and then answer questions to help them reflect on what they have learned.

Education Standards

This lesson is based upon the Grade 9 Geography curriculum, Strand C. This lesson will teach students about managing Canada’s resources and about former industries in Brantford.
